Euro Truck Simulator 2 - West Balkans is a simulation DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2 by developer SCS Software. It’s the game’s eighth map expansion, introducing the western Balkans region, which comprises Slovenia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Albania, and North Macedonia.

ETS2 is a truck simulation game wherein you can build your logistics empire in a 1:19 scale map of Europe. The U.K. and parts of mainland Europe are in the base game, but several expansions have added more countries. It features more maps, vehicles, and cargo than its predecessor Euro Truck Simulator. 

Drive through new roads

Driving through roads and sceneries based on real-life locations and growing your logistics business are the main gameplay components of Euro Truck Simulator 2. It’s simple, but it has worked well given the success the game has seen. ETS2 is still in active development and continues to receive updates and expansions such as the Euro Truck Simulator 2 - High Power Cargo Pack and Euro Truck Simulator 2 - Going East!

The game’s eighth map expansion, Euro Truck Simulator 2 - West Balkans, adds a total of eight more countries to its already expansive virtual world. Players can drive the game’s officially licensed vehicles through new highways and enjoy new scenery through the western Balkans. The region offers a different atmosphere, bringing players to coastal highways, mountainous areas, and more bustling cities.

Furthermore, the DLC introduces a whole slew of famous landmarks and road networks that will enrich players’ driving experience. The new countries, which have their own distinct industries, bring more to the logistics part of the game. New industries mean new cargo and new opportunities to expand your logistics business. It should be noted, however, that issues regarding anti-aliasing can carry over from the base game.

Official release event

Accompanying the Euro Truck Simulator 2 - West Balkans DLC release are a few fun features, including a special #CruisingTheBalkans World of Trucks event. This event grants exclusive rewards by completing deliveries either to or from any of the 15 cities in the West Balkans or the Road to the Black Sea DLCs. With a collective community goal of driving 300,000,000 km in total, the event offers a platform for everyone to contribute toward a grand shared objective, all while exploring the mesmerizing landscapes and vibrant cities of the region.

The rewards for participating in this event are as fascinating as they are diverse. You can adorn your cabin with exclusive accessories, or opt for unique paint jobs that reflect the typical West Balkan theme. If all of this wasn’t exciting enough, any job completed using external contracts to or from Podgorica rewards you with an adorable Hermann’s tortoise that you can take anywhere.

A solid DLC for a solid game

Expanding on the relaxing experience offered by the base game, Euro Truck Simulator 2 - West Balkans is a solid DLC that fans of the series will love. Offering fresh environments to drive through and new industries to delve into, players have more quality content to explore. The expansion may not resolve the graphics issues of the base game, but it still has breathtaking visuals that everyone will surely appreciate.
